Madrid Controversy marks the election campaign of 27-M

On Sunday May 27 is celebrated throughout Spain municipal elections, which will be chosen the mayors of the 8,111 municipalities, and in which more than 35 million citizens are called to go to the polls. Also, the voters of all Autonomous Communities except Galicia , Basque Country, Catalonia and Andalucía, must elect top leaders of the region for the next 4 years.

During the election campaign, both Madrid as their capital, have been the greatest presence and have information relevant to the media, something that is not explained solely by the nature of capital, but also by the controversies that have arisen between the candidates (mainly PP and PSOE ) during the various pre-election events.
Especially
acid has been confrontation between the popular candidate for mayor, Alberto Ruiz Gallardon , and its namesake socialist Miguel Sebastian. In a televised debate TVE, which also involved the United Left candidate , Ángel Pérez, Sebastián Gallardón questioned about his alleged involvement in the Malaya case , the while showing a photograph of the lawyer Montserrat Corulla to , who allegedly the current mayor of Madrid has or has had any relationship. Gallardón was annoyed by the question was considered an intrusion into his private life and chose not to answer.

Apart from the controversy, in this election campaign has highlighted the use of blogs by the candidates, in showing some of his proposals or even the future of campaign. Gallardón himself has a blog on ABC in which pro includes its electoral program, but not alone. The same paper contains the blogs of both presidential candidates in the Castile-La Mancha for PP and PSOE, María Dolores de Cospedal and José María Barreda respectively, as candidate for mayor of Toledo, José Manuel Molina and Emiliano García-Page . Miguel Sebastián also featured blog in this journal, but has been deleted after the controversy mentioned above. Either way, the socialist candidate has his own blog .

However, despite that it has taken enough time and space in the media, not only from Madrid live this election. The rest of Autonomous Communities, other than above mentioned, and municipalities are involved in the vortex pre-election and so the media have the task of gathering extensive information on it in special within their digital editions.

The World Telecommunication Day 2007, dedicated youth

Every year, Spain will celebrate the Day May 17th World Telecommunication and Information Society, which in this edition will focus on youth under the slogan Connecting the Young: the opportunities of ICT ( technologies of information and communication ) and whose objective is that of awareness of the importance of integrating young people into the information society.

The Col e i g Officer or Telecommunications Engineers (COIT) and Ministry of Industry, Comerc io and Tourism organized to commemorate this date, an official event held in the Casa de América and revolve around the theme before and will affect the importance of telecommunications in today's society. It will intervene in the First Decan or Chairman COIT dente, Enrique Gutiérrez Bueno , the general director of Coordination, Business Development and Synergies, Telefónica SA , Julio Linares, and close the ceremony the Minister of Industry, Tourism and Trade Joan Clos .

precisely, and making the celebration of this day and its commitment to youth, has announced that the ITU (International Telecommunication Union) launch a campaign in collaboration with Her Royal Highness Sheikha Al-Qatar Mayassa for the granting of 250 scholarships and internships for young people 1000 by 2010.

The World Telecommunication Day is celebrated on 17 May each year, when we commemorate the founding of ITU and the signing of the first International Telegraph Convention in 1865. In November 2005, the World Summit on the Information Society asked the General Assembly of the United Nations to declare May 17 as World Day of the Information Society, to promote the importance of ICT and the various issues related to the Information Society. Finally, in March 2006 the General Assembly adopted a resolution accepting the petition.

Of course, this event has been included both in the main national media, and even in the regional (pdf). And of course, many blogs also gather the news:

Rethinking the role of the press Congress

The "boom" of journalism on the Internet or Web journalism has made the press has become a little outdated, if already their value as a current provider information was not sufficiently minimized after the advent of radio and television. In other words, people no longer so interested in reading the information from newspapers, preferring to use other types of services it offers as hobbies, weather, horoscopes, lottery, supplements, etc.. -Though also Digital Editions account with them, because it has at its disposal other systems to be aware of what happens every minute, without having to wait 24 hours to open the kiosk.

This is a logical consequence of the immense possibilities that Internet offers the reporter for this communicate today. Just take a glance at the online edition of any newspaper, for example World:

The cover is only updated every 20 minutes, moving the new to old news according to importance, so you can be informed what happens shortly after the news occurs, the various stories are linked to earlier thanks to the hypertext, thus providing a context that helps explain the first information, no pictures (also linked), videos, graphics and documents enriching audio information; special offered multimedia where there is comprehensive information on a particular topic drawing on photos, videos, etc.. and of course there are the archicitados blogs.
All these-and many-are many advantages that digital media has written about using the possibilities of the Internet and websites that make it a much more crowded than the newspaper for information, because in addition this is better and more complete.

In this situation, it is interesting and necessary to consider what role is left to the press. Maybe the money that should arise would aim at giving interpretation of the news a lot (look for the reasons, causes and consequences, possible solutions, etc..) together with a similar number of opinion-but not of any, please, "and reports of general social interest. And this only go with a minimum of information necessary for contextualized pure all that is being interpreted and what are reviewing.

In fact, the written press and meets many of these features, but perhaps there has been a bit overwhelmed with this advancement that Web journalism has made him so brilliant, and it still strives to provide the same type information that has already out 10 or 12 hours earlier.

However, it must be said that digital media are also set out the roles of opinion and interpretation in their own blogs of journalists who usually puzzle over what to express their views about specific topics. The question that lies at the heart of the matter is clear: will digital journalism by curtailing the role of media in society, or else this force is above all and manage to find new reasons for survival?

Movie About Kidnapped Woman Tied To Table

II Blogs and Journalism Stealing ideas

On April 25 I attended the first day of the Second International Congress of Blogs and Journalism at the Network, held in Universidad Complutense de Madrid. At about 9:40 am carpetzado output is given to the event, and between rigor and presentations before the first conference, made a long speech, perhaps more than normal for what these formalities, the Director General of the Orange Foundation , Manuel Gimeno . Two information reaffirm his opinion then I have been advocating on this blog about the phenomenon of blogs. The first sentence is: "it is difficult from both written (in reference to blogging), find information of rigor and quality as well as verifying the veracity of its contents. The second information is that "digital journalist should not be reduced to a cut and paste of the current information, but include their own content taking advantage of Internet properties.

words, the journalist digital must establish a barrier with respect to non-professional blogger, beyond which they find information that rigor, quality and accuracy of spoken Gimeno and contents that are not reduced to the simple and recurring one in so many blogs . In just 20 minutes I had already been satisfied.

Focusing on the content of the Congress, the first conference (and the most prominent of which I attended) was conducted by Francis Pisani correspondent Le Monde and El Pais and visiting professor at the University Berkeley, San Francisco (California). Pisani gave his point of view about the phenomenon of blogging, explaining his appearance because of a crisis of journalism, listing the characteristics of Web 2.0, and putting on the table some interesting concepts such as collective intelligence, wisdom of the crowd or Blogalaxia (I like it better than blogosphere). But undoubtedly the most important concept on which cemented much of his explanation was that of former hearing. According to Pisani, the audience is not hearing, as it is to have experiences that change their relationship with the media (such as Youtube ) and allowing it to participate, establishing a new relationship between audience-means by which the first is not to receive information, but many, for from them, create your own.

In the words of Pisani also finally include your answer to one question from the audience, referring to the importance that will be left to the press with the explosion of digital media. To this, the Californian said that "what matters is not the support, but the news." The rest

Congress I can not stress more, because my lack of time together with the significant delay with which the measure is left to the next conference I attended in which a teacher of our own university (Prospero Morán) complained bitterly lack of preparedness information with which students arrive, which is a handicap when it comes to providing content and a poor use of technical resources at our disposal.
